I have come back to that though pretty often over the past few months. I've been blessed to be given sort of a child-like faith, I think, in being able to trust that God knows what He is doing, and that He has a purpose for it all.
I'm not really one to handle change well. Change can be so good..but it's scary to me because I have no clue what is going on during it. There's a lot of unknown. It rocks that I can rest in the fact that, even though I don't know what is going on, God does know. And He works all things for the good of those who love Him! (Rom. 8:28) That is good, good news.
Since I've moved to the cities I feel like I have been reminded of that a lot. I've been so anxious and freaked out about coming here. (I had a lot of time to think about all of the things that could go wrong. Not the best thing to do..) I had all kinds of doubts about this being the right decision. But I think things worked out the way they did for a reason. Last May when I needed to find a 6-month lease and a roommate for that amount of time, it totally worked out. Timing for moving into the cities could not have been more perfect, and the timing on that one was not set in stone until recently! Thanks, Jesus! I think the school I'm in is going to be a great fit for me. I am loving it there more each day. I've only been there for four days, but I get to hang out with high school students and do math all day! It doesn't get much better. I just feel settled there and my cooperating teacher is super helpful and I think it's going to be just fine.
There's a lot of other stuff that I have no idea about. That is a little overwhelming to me, honestly. But I am not worried about it working out. Too much other stuff has gone right at the right time, and not by chance. I'm SO thankful for the grace that I have been given to trust God's plan, and to just rest in the fact that He is going to take care of me. That doesn't mean easy, but it does mean good. Oh boy. Sign me up.

Kendra,
Is it true that you are teaching at Southwest? If so, are you working with Austin Dyck?? He is one of my sister's closest friends from the time when she taught there and he has hung out with our family on numerous occasions over the last few years. If you're working with him, tell him hi from the Brandes girls and consider it one more blessing on your plate....he. is. amazing. So glad you are being reminded of God's loving care for you. I pray this spring is a stretching experience for you full of growth and joy!
Thanks Eva!
It's true that I'm teaching at Southwest! I'm not working with Austin Dyck, but I'll keep his name in mind in case I meet him! (I often need help un-jamming the copy machine from other teachers :) hehe..) So it's possible that I might meet him!
What does he teach?
Thanks for commenting!
He teaches math. Um....maybe it is a different Southwest. The one I am thinking of is a Christian school in Chaska. I just thought about it and realized you are probably teaching in a public school...
Bummer. I got really excited about that.
