Monday through Wednesday this week is my church's version of VBS. I've been privileged to get to play a small role in it.
On my way there tonight I was reminded about the blessing that we have in this country to be free to advertise and put up signs and celebrate and sing and talk about the Gospel in a very public place without being afraid of being found out or being asked to leave the country (or worse). I definitely take it for granted a lot.
But it did remind me to pray for others who are living intentionally around the world and don't have the same freedom. The Lord is good in the way that He calls us to different places, and in the way that He is faithful to carry out His specific purposes in those places.
Isaiah 55:8-11
8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the LORD.
9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10 As the rain and the snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
