Sometimes it's really very hard for me to let go of things I care a lot about.
Like friends, for example. It's hard to disagree with people for sure. Maybe even harder with the people that you are close with since you don't want to argue with them. But at the same time I think that if you really care about someone and you feel that strongly about something, you need to stand up for that something and you need to be able to be real about it with other people. (I'm fairly extremely terrible at this, for the record.)
It just really kind of sucks when that happens and as a result you can't be friends anymore. I guess I get that things like that have to happen sometimes, but I'm sorry that it has to be that way. Even (and especially) among good Christian friends. What are we representing here anyway?
Hebrews 12:14-15
14 Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. 15 See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.
Maybe we could do a better job.
