Here Goes Nothing..

I've never been a good writer, so consider that your warning as you read. I've just always thought it would be fun to have a blog, so here it goes!

I chose the title "approaching infinity" because, well, I like math and I can't help myself. The idea of infinity blows my mind. I want to understand it, but I can't. It doesn't make any sense whatsoever. 1+1 = 2. Unless you are adding infinity plus infinity. Then you still get just infinity, not two infinity. It's not logical. Then, there are different dimensions of infinity. What?! I don't even know. It's awesome, and I love it. "How big is infinity anyway?" I have thought about this. The universe is thought to be expanding still, which suggests that it is not infinite. The universe is not even infinite. Then what is?

Something more. God. He is infinite. We cannot, as finite beings, even begin to understand Him. But--He understands us perfectly. That is a beautiful thought to me. That an infinite God, the infinite God, who designed and created the universe, also created you and me and loves us like no one else ever could love us. He loved us enough to send His Son to suffer and die for us, and we throw it back in His face every day. We don't deserve Him or His love one bit. Praise the Lord that He would continue to love us in spite of who we are. He wants to spend eternity with us. Forever. If that doesn't change you, I don't know what will.

One last thought about infinity. It extends both ways-positively and negatively. All of us are approaching infinity in one way or the other..
